Taiwan donates medical equipments to NRH

A donation of 27 medicine distribution trolleys and 55 Laryngoscope sets has been contributed to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) by the visiting Taiwanese Navy Squadron team today (Saturday 15  April).

The gift is certainly a boost to the hospital to ensure it delivers its services more effectively and efficiently.

The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy in Honiara states that the medical supply donation was made possible through the partnership between Taiwan Embassy, ROC Ministry of Defense and Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital.

“As the sister Hospital of NRH, this donation is one of the continuous endeavors from Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital to improve NRH’s Medical capabilities,” a release from ROC Embassy says.

Receiving the donated items on behalf of the hospital is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NRH Dr Steve Auma

Dr Aumanu said the gifted medical equipment’s is a boost to the hospital adding the medicine distribution trolleys will definitely help medical staff to ensure they offer better and safer medicine transportation and dispensary in the hospital while the Laryngoscope sets will be used for the general anesthesia and intubation.

ROC since establishing diplomatic ties with Solomon Islands many years back, continues to provide assistance to the country through health, education (scholarships) and other sectors.

The donation cost USD$15,000.
