It has come to our attention that individuals are making claims that they can provide work opportunities in Australia with a company called ‘Botanic Parks and Recreation’.

The Australia High Commission has re-confirmed that this un-registered company and is not an approved employer under the Seasonal Worker Program (SWP).

Solomon Islanders should treat individuals who claim to represent ‘Botanic Parks and Recreation’, ‘Botanic Gardens’ or similar with suspicion. Individuals associated with this fake company are not able to facilitate employment in Australia. Documents issued by individuals associated with ‘Botanic Gardens’ are not genuine and will not enable individuals to work in Australia.

Agents are not permitted to ask for money from workers under both the Australian SWP. An individual asking for money in return for employment should be reported to the RSIPF and the LMU notified.

Anyone with queries about Solomon Islands participation in the SWP should contact the Labour Mobility Unit (LMU) on phone 21250.

There is an allegations reporting tool on our website: https://www.border.gov.au/about/contact/report-suspicious-activities-behaviour which is used globally and monitored in Australia.

Clients are of course also able to provide information directly to our office (as the relevant processing post) through the mailbox if they prefer immigration.port-moresby@dfat.gov.au
