Koloale women’s football club received assistance from the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) technical department today ahead of the Women’s Football League this weekend.
SIFF Technical Director, Felipe Vega-Arango handed over a full set of uniform, balls, shoes and training gears which cost around $10,000.
Felipe said the assistance is part of developing the women’s game in the country.
“The assistance is very important because we want to promote the women’s game in Solomon Islands,” he said.
“Koloale just won the preseason tournament so it’s a way of showing appreciation for their commitment and fine achievement.
“I believe this assistance will motivate the girls to continue playing”.
Koloale captain Crystal Bakalo said the assistance is a timely one.
“We have been actively playing without a sponsor since our major sponsor withdraw two years ago,” she said.
“Therefore, I believe this assistance from SIFF will boost our team to perform at a higher level.
“I want to thank Felipe and SIFF for the assistance which will definitely help us in our league campaign this season”.
