Nominations for the Prime Minister’s post has closed hours ago, and it has been confirmed that Rick Hou from the former DCCG camp will be up against Moffat Fugui from the opposing camp based at the Honiara Hotel.
Mr Hou is from the Democratic Alliance Party (DAP) while Mr Fugui is from the United Democratic Party (UDP).
The two camps put forward their contending candidates before the close of nominations at 4pm today.
The former DCCG group now commands the political battle with 30 MPs after seven removed their allegiance from the Honiara Hotel Group immediately after the Motion of No Confidence was through, which resulted in Mr Sogavare’s downfall.
With the combination with the former opposition group, the former DCCG group is set to keep the numerical composure inorder to maintain their command.
The opposing group at the Honiara Hotel now have 20 MPs with only five days left to draw their winning cards.
The election is set for 9:30am November 15th 2017.
